Job Description

LandWorks is seeking self-motivated professionals to join its Quality Assurance team.  The Quality Assurance Team is responsible for ensuring our industry leading land asset management software meets our high-quality expectations. This includes verifying functional behavior of applications, adherence to design specifications, performance, and data accuracy. The majority of testing is hands-on, with automated testing becoming a larger part of the overall quality assurance cycle. Candidate must be eager to learn new products and have a personal commitment to quality work and attention to detail.  This position requires the ability to create and follow test cases, report defects to the development group, and track and communicate testing progress to management on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute manual tests cases for user interfaces, business logic and data access
  • Perform functional/non-functional testing
  • Log, track, and verify resolution of software and specification defects
  • Able to drive process improvements
  • Provide reports on testing status
  • Perform quality assurance and end-user acceptance testing to ensure the product satisfies end-user requirements and needs
  • Communicate with technical and business personnel about business requirements, system related capabilities, and enhancement status
  • Create and maintain test data to simulate real life use cases

Requirements

  • 4 – year degree from an accredited university
  • Hands on experience testing software
  • Familiar with software testing methodology and best practices
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • SQL skills with relational databases like MS SQL Server and Oracle
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • General understanding of land asset management systems is a plus
  • Strong organization, analytic and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be available and willing to work extended hours during crunch times
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively in a team setting
  • Software Testing Certification a plus

Physical Demands / Environmental Exposure

  • Prolonged sitting for extended periods of time, and use of computer monitors, keyboard and mouse.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying of items up to 11 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Frequent sorting, filing, shelving and handling of documents, books, files, file drawers and related materials and equipment required for clerical operations.
  • Work is performed indoors in a normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, air conditions and noise levels.
